Some Lovett students pair up after a few years of high school. Freshmen Kace Woodall and Mackenzie Gangi, who are known for spending a lot of time talking and hanging out, got started in middle school.
I met with them in a classroom on the second floor to find out about their relationship. We started with some basics, like how long they have been dating. They’re going on “about 10 months,” which is a pretty long time for high school.
Considering they hang out at school, I also wondered how much they hang out outside of school. It turns out that they hang out a lot, as in “almost every weekend.”
Although they have been dating for a little less than a year, I wondered how long they were friends prior to dating. They weren’t friends for that long, as they met “in the middle of eighth grade,” and “last March.” So when they met, they started dating fairly quickly.
Freshman PDC is coming up pretty quickly, and almost all the girls have asked out partners for it, regardless of whether they are dating or not. Kace said that they are “excited.”
But for Kace and Mackenzie, it’s more about the day-to-day connection than dances. They said they talk “every day.” often several times a day.
What do they like so much about each other? Mackenzie said that Kace “is caring,” while Kace said that Mackenzie is “always supporting me and she just feels like a really good friend.”
Given how long they’ve been dating and how close their friendship is, I wondered if they felt like this relationship would likely keep going. They said they “don’t really ever plan on stopping.”
