Everyone has vivid memories from Halloween of dumping their candy out after a long night of trick-or-treating. For me, it was definitely a competition among my friends to see who could get the most candy by the end of the night.
Then we would trade our favorite candies with each other and try to eat as much as we could right away, even though most of the time the candy would last a couple of weeks after Halloween because of how much candy we would get.
Now let’s dig into the candy piles a little deeper to see which ones we love to keep and which we’d prefer to give away!
Starting with sour candy!
My favorite Halloween sour candies are Sour Patch Kids, Sour Trolli Gummy Worms, and Sour Airhead Xtremes.
Sour Patch Kids are definitely the first candies that I want in my basket!
“This candy is perfect and has a great mix of different flavors. Blue is definitely my favorite and green is my least favorite (even though people say that there really is no difference in taste, I definitely taste a difference),” junior Julia Batchelor said.
“My favorite candy is the Watermelon version of Sour Patch Kids,” Hollis Mefford says. Junior Gunner Jones agreed with Hollis. “They are so much better than the regular kind,” he said.
Next, my least favorite sour candy to get in my pile is WarHeads and sour gummy bears.
“Warheads have always been too much for me and are WAY too sour,” Hollis said.
I agree with Hollis. I cannot handle them and would much prefer to have something else to eat. Rather than enjoying them, I find myself struggling to finish one, and they end up giving me a headache.
Next up, Chocolate!
My favorite chocolate has recently been a good bar of Hershey’s chocolate, it always is perfect and never disappoints. Going along with this, I absolutely love Hershey’s kisses, they are the perfect size (but sometimes they are way too addicting).
Junior Gunner Jones agreed and added that his favorite chocolate is Snickers because he loves “the caramel mixed with the chocolate.” Hollis loves Reese’s peanut butter cups.
My least favorite chocolates are most definitely Health bars. I have never liked these and these chocolates are definitely the worst and the first to be out of my pile. I also have never loved junior mints because they tend to give me headaches because they are too minty.
Senior Lucy Wynne disagreed, saying that she “loves junior mints.”
Of course, the more we talked about the candy we began to come together in a circle. All of us in the circle agreed that we love candy corn and Addison added that it is a “classic for Halloween” and that it reminds her of fall.
Finally, after asking around Lovett I decided to research the top candies to buy for Halloween to see if it would match our answers and it definitely did for the most part.
According to “cozymeal.com” most of our answers were in the top 31 candies to buy for Halloween, so safe to say that I am very excited to go trick-or-treating this Thursday (cause you can never be too old to dress up and get some candy).
