For Seniors, A Milestone Breakfast

“I think it was a super fun way to get everyone excited for graduation season."

While the seniors aren’t done, they are less than 100 days from being done. A couple of weeks ago, the seniors gathered in the cafeteria for a Waffle House breakfast and the opportunity for a photo op under a balloon arch to celebrate there being only 100 days of school left!

Ms. Hooker and a bunch of parents worked together to set up the morning festivities. The cafeteria was decked out with balloon arches, photos of all of the seniors as babies, gold beads and glasses, and Class of 2024 cookies.

“I think it was a super fun way to get everyone excited for graduation season,” Virginia Evans said. Our class has been together as long as we can remember, for some people even 13 years. After all of the hard work we have put into our classes and college applications, it was time for us to all celebrate together!

Even though we all have different interests and will soon be spread out all over the country, everyone still cherishes the final moments we have to come together.

As I sat there with my friend group of four years, we laughed at old memories we had together, and we excitedly talked about the fun moments to come during grad season, leading up to graduation.

“I can’t believe it’s almost over,” Mikayla Carter said. “I felt like graduation would never actually come.” All of the traditions we will share over the next few months will undoubtedly be bittersweet, as they will remind us how excited we are for the next chapters of our lives, but also how scary it will be to leave all of our childhood friends behind.

I think that Lovett, in particular Ms. Hooker, and the senior parents do a fantastic job making the seniors feel special throughout the year. Ms. Hooker is very involved in planning the majority of senior events. “It takes a lot of my time, but I enjoy doing it,” she says. However, the recent senior breakfast and the senior supper at the beginning of the year are the two events planned by parents. These parents volunteer their time to plan these meals and set up.

Everyone appreciates moments such as the senior breakfast and the generosity of everyone coming together to make these special moments for us. Because of the time are effort everyone puts in, we have the opportunity to make memories that we will cherish forever as we look back on our time at the Lovett School.

“It was so fun to bond with the whole grade,” senior class president Gibbs Feinour said. “It was such a wholesome memory to have to look back on.”
